Quick Start

A short guide to get started quickly.

Quick Start

Get up and running with WinDEETS in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through installing, opening, and exploring your Windows system—no jargon, just clear steps.

What you need

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Server versions work in no-GPU mode.
  • Administrator rights help you unlock every feature (like service and system-level checks).
  • Download the latest WinDEETS installer from the Download page.

Install and open WinDEETS

  1. Download the installer from the Download page.
  2. Run the installer and follow the prompts. On a server or VM? Turn on the No-GPU/Headless option during setup, or use the --no-gpu launch flag.
  3. Once installed, open WinDEETS from your Start Menu. For portable installs, run C:\WinDEETS\WinDEETS.exe.

First things to try

  1. Let WinDEETS gather your system data (this may take a few seconds the first time).
  2. Open System Data Explorer to see your processes, services, installed software, and devices—all in one place.
  3. Explore the Data Explorer (Events, Services, Processes, Software, Devices, Tasks, Startup) to view logs and system info. Use filters to show only warnings and errors, or narrow results by channel.
  4. Try the One-Click Toolbox to run a safe checkup, like SFC or network diagnostics.
