Web Search

The Web Search feature lets you send selected Data Explorer content to your favorite web search or AI tool. Click the logo while looking at any item to open your chosen search tool with a ready-to-go query describing what you picked.

What it does

• Opens your browser to a page showing your selected data and a clear, pre-written query or prompt.
• If you use an LLM (AI) as your search, WinDEETS fills in the prompt with a description of your data. You can edit it before sending.
• If you use a search engine, WinDEETS opens a search with your selected data in the query.

Change your search and prompt

You can change how Web Search works in Settings → Search. Pick between a search engine or an LLM provider, and update the default prompt WinDEETS uses to describe your data.

Edit before you send

If your settings use an LLM, you’ll see a prompt editor in your browser after clicking the logo. Change the message, add details, or ask for a specific kind of answer before you send it.

Privacy and security

Only the data you select goes to the search or LLM. Be careful with sensitive info—you can edit or remove anything before sending. Check your Search settings to use providers you trust.
